Fiocchi Munizioni Sponsors Olympic Athletes In Beijing
Italian Ammunition Company Sponsors Shooters from Four Different Nations
Fiocchi Munizioni, an international leader in the ammunition industry, with four generations and over 130 years of experience, is sponsoring ten athletes from four different nations in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Some Olympic teams are required to shoot only the ammunition provided under their team's sponsorship, for example the U.S. team must use Winchester ammunition; whereas athletes on the Indian, Italian, German and Australian teams are able to pursue whatever ammo sponsorships they desire, and many have chosen Fiocchi.

Athletes are competing for fifteen Olympic shooting medals in Beijing, nine for men and six for women. Rifle and pistol shooting events comprise the majority of the contests, with ten overall categories. Fiocchi-sponsored Ralf Schumann, of the German team, is the rapid-fire event favorite, as a 28-time World Cup winner and current Olympic and World record holder. The remaining five events are shotgun, three for men and two for women. Two-time Olympic gold medal-winning shooter Michael Diamond, of the Australian team, will be shooting Fiocchi in the men's trap event as he attempts to improve upon his world record set at the '96 games in Atlanta. Competing against Diamond in the men's trap is Mansher Singh, double-Olympian and twelve-time Indian National Champion. Known as "Joey" among his shooting comrades, Singh will also be shooting Fiocchi.

Deborah Gelisio, of the Italian team, and a silver medalist in Sydney's 2000 games, will be looking to capture gold in Beijing while shooting Fiocchi in the women's double trap event. Deborah's cohorts on the Italian team, Francesco D'Aniello (men's double trap), Giovanni Pellielo (men's trap) and Daniele Di Spigno (men's double trap), have all chosen Fiocchi as their ammunition sponsor.

Additional Fiocchi-sponsored shooters include Stephan Ruettgeroth (men's trap), Tino Wenzel (men's skeet) and Axel Wegner (men's skeet), all of the German team.
