Enjoy a trophy hunt during ladies weekend at Indianhead Ranch

After learning the finer points of shooting and hunting, put your skills to the test by upgrading to a trophy hunt at one of the best exotic ranches in Texas during a special ladies weekend Sept. 23-27, 2009.

You can hone your hunting and rifle shooting skills through one-on-one practice sessions with experienced guides and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department certified instructors. Your training will include experiencing a variety of hunting and shooting scenarios with lessons in ballistics followed up with plenty of practice. You'll make noticeable progress with coaches who can show you the correct way to shoot and answer your questions.

Then, hunt with a knowledgeable guide for a doe or trophy on the 10,000-acre ranch, which is bordered by Devils River and Lake Amistad near Del Rio, Texas. More than 25 species of native and exotic game roam free throughout the ranch.

Indianhead Ranch is a well-respected estate recently designated by The Hunting Report as one of the Top 3 Exotic Game Ranches in Texas and earning the Safari Club International's "North American Professional Hunter of the Year Award." Hunters at the ranch enjoy a high success rate with more than 95 percent of animals taken qualifying as SCI record class trophies.

At the end of the day, enjoy happy hour before gourmet chef, Jeffrey Mahl, puts on a private cooking demonstration showing you how to cut, marinade and cook game meat, while also giving you tips on pairing wines with your meals. As a bonus, you'll be given a special recipe book to take home with you so you can recreate the barbecue, Italian, Mexican and wild game dinners served throughout the weekend.

In the evening, hunters also are invited to practice their shooting with the latest version of Laser Shot games or enjoy what is described by past attendees as the most amazing star gazing you can imagine.

Indianhead Ranch offers private, luxurious guest houses while the lodge features marble floors, solid wood furniture and a patio for relaxing and enjoying sunset views of the mountains in Mexico. Guest rooms have double and single rooms with their own bathrooms, maid services and other amenities.

The special ladies weekend has only 12 openings so reserve your spot now. For details on the event, visit:
